Luigi Ghirri was born at Scandiano (Reggio Emilia) January 5th, 1943. He started photography in 1970; his first exhibition is from 1973 at Modena, where he lives and works. He has exhibited his works in the whole world: Milan, Paris, Rome, Tokyo, New York, etc., both at personal exhibitions and participating in collective ones; his works are at the,Museum of Modern Art in New York, la Bibliothèque Nationale in Paris, the,Museum of Photography of Parma. Kodachrome is the emblematic title of a photographed universe and univers to be photographed, in which memories, strange or poetical, are mixed or await an interpretation in order to recognize the precise identity of man, of things, of life and the image of man, things, life.
