DEBOUT SUR LA TERREBorn into an Iranian family of scholars, French-bred Nahal Tajadod has a Ph.D. in Chinese. Member of the Iranian team at the CNRS in Paris (Centre National de Recherche Scientifique), she has spent her life studying the historical ties between Persia and China. She is the author of numerous essays, she also co-translator of Rumis poems Shams de Tabriz by Rumi (Gallimard 1993). Roumi le brulé is her first novel.
A new interest for Rumi and his poems is raising around the world today. Famous actors and singers (for ex. Madonna) interpret his poems and several works have been written about his life and work. None has so far, described the very essential relationship between Rumi and Shams.
